I bought a T-shirt 2024 Dec that was advertised with a longer coverage period for manufacturing issue at the time. After normal washing, the seam tape completely delaminated — clearly a manufacturing defect (not wear and tear) so I just leave it there and bring it back once I go to store.
When I went back to the store today, the manager refused to process the return, saying their “current policy” only allows returns within one year.
The problem is: that policy did not exist when I bought it.
They’re basically applying a new rule retroactively to deny my claim. That feels deceptive to me.
Has anyone dealt with something like this? Is this legal? What would you do next?
