Occurred three times at two separate stores now.

I went to the store at Mapleview Mall in Burlington, Ontario and the GEC seemed weirded out that I pulled up my phone and opened my Apple Wallet for her to scan my membership QR. She seemed to either be quite confused or even slightly annoyed? I prefer this way so I don’t have to say my phone number out loud (as silly as it sounds).

Two weeks ago, the GEC at Masonville Mall in London, Ontario was strangely fascinated by how I can just pull it up on the app for her to scan it as well. The GEC when I needed to hem something at a separate time was also fascinated by it.

Idk if it’s just me, but I guess these features are too relatively new?

I’m confused, are we now using GEC as interchangeable with educators now? GEC = Guest Education Center, people who help you in the store = educators

Given the verbiage the company uses I completely understand the confusion though 😂

I never had that experience even at Mapleview. If anything they were grateful I pulled it up and said it’s alot easier now that we can add it to our wallet :)

We are aware. And if we aren’t then the store managers aren’t doing their job lol

Yeah, depends on the store. We know about it but aren’t used to it, was just told today actually we’ll start letting guests know they can add it to their wallet

I want everyone to use it! Hate typing in email or phone number when store is loud

We know. I don’t always ask guests if they have the QR but I’ll ask if they have a membership or phone number. If they aren’t sure I’ll ask if they have the app and tell them I can scan their QR from there but I generally to avoid having to give a spiel about it to everyone. But yeah, long story short, educators should know about it.

Overall it is a newish feature (rolled out to employees in September) and then to guests afterward. I knew about the app but not that I could add it to my wallet. Thanks for teaching me! 🤗

It’s funny you say this because I was at Masonville last week and the GEC showed me how to do this and I had no idea!

They’re not keeping up with communications about these things. Reading Zipline is part of the job.

Go on the app > Account > View Membership Pass > View in Apple Wallet

Make sure your app is updated

Depends on the employees. I was in Masonville mall 2 months ago, my guess (old employee) knows about the membership QR and few weeks ago, I went back to buy an items new employee didn’t asked about membership QR.
