I know this has been a topic of conversation for a long time but i’m shocked at how much the quality CONTINUES to decline. i just got a big order in and I’m really disappointed in the construction of so many of the pieces. it really feels like lulu is seeing how far they can push it before they start losing customers.
take the valentine’s day collection for example- I bought almost all of the drop and almost all of it will be a return. the new heart groove flares and leggings, the fabric is soft but SO thin. the recent heart/polka dot print aligns are also thinner than usual (and even see-through!). i really wanted to love the new heart wrap shirt and bra but something about the fabric is also throwing me off. it feels cheap and poorly constructed and again- THIN!! everything is so thin and not in a way that feels intentionally lightweight and airy, but cost-cutting corner-cutting thin. same with the new get low collection. I can’t believe they would market something as being for lifting/strength training and then make it see-through. how are we supposed to feel comfortable working out in this?
what’s frustrating is that instead of refining and protecting their core collection, it feels like lulu has lost its brand identity and is just throwing out endless new and random collections, most of which feel a la fast fashion afterthoughts. meanwhile, core pieces are getting worse. every new pair of aligns or WTs or bras or shorts i’ve bought lately has felt thinner, flimsier, or stiffer; the fabric quality has noticeably downgraded. not to mention the quality control is all over the place too. half of my swiftlys purchased in the last year don’t even feel like the same fabric as each other.
i just miss when they were reliably good quality. the price point was easier to swallow because you knew you were getting what you paid for- durable, luxurious-feeling fabric that you could live & move in without worrying about the construction. i loved that I could rely on them for workout gear and then also wear pieces casually because they were flattering and well made. and i swear it’s not like they cut corners once or twice and stabilized. instead it feels like every new drop is a little thinner, a little cheaper, a little flimsier, a little worse in quality. my clothes from early 2025 are better than late 2025, my clothes from 2024 are better than 2025, so on so forth. anyone else notice the same?
